The Nero family is originally from Italy and moved to Set煤bal (south of Lisbon) in 1680 (I know, it鈥檚 been a while). They produce conserves using only fresh fish and Portuguese products. Amazing, right? 馃槒

Canned sardines are becoming increasingly more popular in the Portuguese cuisines – from sardine bruschetta recipes with peppers to saut茅ed sardines with onions and olive oil, they are all delicious! Besides being a versatile food, canned sardine from Nero is embedded in olive oil which makes it a low-calorie and protein-rich food! 馃悷
